Portrait of Foldocs

Websites from shared folders

Foldocs turns a publicly shared folder into a website. The folder is the editor: you write where you already write, and the site is a fast, read-only copy of what is in it. There is no admin panel, no database and no account to hand over.

This site is a folder

Every page on foldocs.com is a document in one public Google Drive folder; every section a folder in it. Each page links to its own document, and the folder behind this site shows the folder beside the site. Read the Guide to see how it fits together.

Why

Most people who want a website already have a place where they write: shared documents, full of drafts, comments and versions. A content management system asks them to move, learn a new editor and keep it updated. Foldocs lets the writing stay where it is.
